All children under 16 years of age must pass a swim test administered by a Sun Valley lifeguard to swim in the main pool. The tests are as follows:

• 4 foot section only: 1 length freestyle 

• 4 and 5 foot sections: 2 lengths freestyle

• Entire Pool: 3 lengths freestyle OR
  2 lengths freestyle and 1 length breast stroke

Successful passing of the test is determined by the lifeguard and is recorded in the swim test log. Upon successful completion, members are given a color-coded badge and guests are given a guest badge. Badges are to be worn when swimming in the pool.

A new test must be taken each season until the child reaches age 16.
