Lifeguard & CPR/AED Re-Certification

Class dates: Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13

Time:           4:00 - 8:00 pm

Requirements:

  • must hold certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED from January 2020 or later to participate

  • must complete online component prior to class and attend both in-person sessions listed above

  • Registration closes Monday, May 9 to allow time to complete online component prior to in-person class

An abbreviated Lifeguarding course that briefly reviews course information and allows practice of skills and knowledge before testing. Certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED from January 2020 or later is required to participate in the review course. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.

Dress: Bring a bathing suit and two towels, one to kneel on for drills and one to dry off with. The course will take place outside. Please dress accordingly for the weather (warm layers, sweatshirts etc.). The pool is heated and we will do our best to have the water temperature as comfortable as possible however extreme weather could cause water temp to be cooler than we'd like.

Participants must complete an online component before May 12 and attend both Thursday 5/12 and Friday 5/13 in-person sessions to be eligible to test at the conclusion of this class.

The course will be taught by Cari-Lynn Fisher, who holds the following certifications:

  • Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer and Lifeguarding Instructor

  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Trainer and First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor

  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Water Safety Instructor
