Pool News

Spring is here and the sun feels so good! During the winter we kept busy following state guidance, meeting with area pools, finalizing our membership, and working on our opening plans. Now that the snow has melted from the pool and tennis courts we can start preparing our facilities to welcome you for tennis in April and swimming in May! We will be announcing more precise tennis and pool opening dates soon.

While there is hope on the horizon, the State's March 1, 2021 guidance for pools is largely unchanged from Summer 2020. As such we are planning the same procedures to keep our community safe, including reduced capacity to enable proper distancing, advance reservations, face coverings, frequent cleaning, and screening staff and members for symptoms. The snack bar will remain closed, we will continue to be Members Only (no guests), and children under age 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Recognizing conditions and guidance from the Commonwealth and CDC may change, we we are open to re-visiting policies mid-summer as appropriate.

We know many programs were sorely missed last year and we are thrilled to share we are working hard to resume the following:

  • Basketball Courts re-opening this Spring

  • Swim Team in small practice format (no meets)

  • Small Group Swim Lessons (younger children)

In order to follow state and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID, these offerings will need to be modified significantly. Basketball court rules will be shared soon. The schedule and frequency of swim practice and lessons will depend on how many participants are interested, while carefully balancing demand for pool time among the membership as a whole. Preliminary info is below. So that we can move forward with plans and finalize swim schedules, please submit this interest form for each child who would like to participate in Swim Team or Group Swim Lessons as soon as possible. Like prior years, there will be no additional fee to participate in our group swim programs.

As we shared in our tennis news earlier this month, our small group tennis programs for Juniors (grades 6-12) and Adults will continue and we are adding small tennis group lessons for children entering grades 2- 5. Be sure to register by March 29 so we can finalize the tennis schedule.

Lastly, we remain committed to continuing morning lap swim. It truly was a silver lining amidst the changes and challenges we faced last year.

We will stay in touch and can't wait to see you this spring.
